Adrian Mole
Our principal is Adrian Mole. Adrian specialises in Ballroom and Latin dancing, along with American Smooth. So far as qualifications go, he is a licentiate member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) and the UK Association of Dance and Kindred Arts (UKA). The Licentiate degree broadly means he is qualified to teach other teachers.
Adrian started dancing at the age of 8, and rose through the competitive ranks in his teenage years successfully competing alongside some of those who are now some of the Strictly professionals, making the top 15 in the UK along the way.
Adrian turned professional at the age of 19 and has been teaching ever since. He now has over 20 years of experience and has formed the way that The Ballroom Experience Co teaches in his own image - making dancing accessible, enjoyable and giving (in pupils' words, not his) endless patience and encouragement.
Adrian teaches our Masterclasses, Ballroom Experience Days, Weekly Classes at Risby, Great Barton and Old Newton, as well as One to One Lessons.
Adrian's favourite dance is the Slow Foxtrot, he's often said he could dance it all day . . .and in August 2010 he did just that with a 24 hour non stop Foxtrot. He is pictured below at the end of it with wife, Debbie and their two daughters Elizabeth and Charlotte, all three of whom took part as partners.
Wendy Horrex
Wendy, together with her partner (the other) Adrian, teaches Salsa and Argentine Tango, both for our weekly Adult classes, and Children's Classes. Wendy also teaches One to One Lessons in Salsa and Argentine Tango.
Wendy has been Ballroom dancing since the age of six, and was a successful competitor throughout the South of England until her late teens.
After having a family, she returned to dancing - Ballroom, Latin, Argentine Tango, Merengue, Bachata and Salsa.
She has danced in the Salsa clubs of Havana, Madrid and Trinidad de Cuba, and is well known in local dance circles, teaching Salsa at Haverhill Salsa Club, demonstrating to local schools and clubs, and giving private tuition to those keen to learn Cuba's most popular dance.
Wendy lives in Stowmarket, where she teaches in a local school. She firmly believes that dancing is the perfect way to meet new friends, keep fit and, above all, have fun!
Lisa Rosenthal and Simon Evans
Lisa has been dancing since the age of four starting with ballet, tap and contemporary dance. She appeared in many productions and briefly considered a career in dancing before opting for the 'sensible' academic route. She was delighted when in later life her husband Simon caught the Strictly bug and agreed to attend Ballroom classes.
After trying a few local classes it was when they started dancing with Adrian that they became truly addicted. After a number of years dancing, Adrian decided to harness their passion for Ballroom and they became our first truly 'home grown' Ballroom Experience instructors.
Lisa and Simon instruct at our Weekly Classes at Bury St Edmunds, Whepstead and West Row, along with running our successful Workshops. Lisa also teaches One to One Lessons
Heidi & Simon Bellamy
Heidi has been dancing since she was four; in her teens she focused on tap, ballet and modern gaining an ISTD vocational grade, appearing in numerous shows and picking up medals along the way.
Although a late starter to dance, Simon has spent over 20 years teaching exercise to music and is an advanced qualified fitness instructor.
The couple's route into Ballroom and Latin began 5 years ago, when they started Salsa as a hobby. Once they met Adrian they were hooked on Ballroom and haven't stopped dancing yet!
Simon and Heidi live in Stradbroke with their 2 children, 2 cats and 2 hens and both work within the leisure and culture industry.
They teach our Weekly Ballroom and Latin classes at Eye.
